How much progress do children make at Dunbury?

 

Children across the school are making good progress in all subjects. We define the minimum expected progress each year as 3 tracking points. Last year, on average, children achieved 4.7 points in Reading, 4.4 points in Writing and 4.3 points in Maths.

 

Teacher assessment for last year across the whole school shows all key groups making above the minimum expected progress, with the vast majority making more than 4 points progress, including those eligible for the Pupil Premium.

 

Good progress has resulted in increasing numbers of children now achieving Age Related Expectations (ARE). At the end of the academic year 2015-16, across the school, the percentage of children at ARE were: 74% in Reading, 68% in Writing and 73% in Maths.

* High level of attainment refers to achieving “Greater Depth Standard” in Writing or a scaled score of 110+ in the tests.

** The progress measure for 2016 is calculated from pupils’ prior attainment at the end of Key Stage One, to their attainment at the end of Key Stage Two. Based on an average attainment achieved by all pupils in the country, expected progress equates to “0”, so a positive value would be better than expected progress, while a negative value would be worse than expected progress.

*** A scaled score of 100 would mean a pupil has achieved Age-Related Expectations (ARE).
