Welcome

Welcome to Dunbury Church of England Academy

Dunbury Academy is a very special place. We are a small primary school, serving the villages of the Winterborne Stickland, Winterborne Whitechurch, Winterborne Kingston, Milton Abbas and the surrounding area.  Our community of villages come together at our school and are untied through our shared vision and values, just like the trees come and stand together on Dunbury Hill in our window emblem.

We have two beautiful bases in the villages of Winterborne Kingston and Winterborne Whitechurch.  We have six classes and amazing grounds, with our purpose-built Key Stage One base in Kingston offering airy classrooms and beautiful outdoor learning and play space. The Key Stage Two base in Whitechurch also offers smart and spacious facilities and a large playground and field.  We are very proud of our school and think that it's a brilliant place to learn and have fun. We are also very proud to have been judged as "Good" in all areas in our recent OfSTED inspection (January 2023).

At Dunbury the children come first; they are at the centre of everything we do. We believe that all of the children in our care deserve the very best education. Our team of teachers and support staff work hard to enable each and every child to be the best they can be. Our inclusive, caring ethos is underpinned by Christian values and we have a good relationship and active partnership with our local churches. As well as enjoying links with the Blandford pyramid of schools we are also part of a family of academies under the Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust (DSAT), which we joined in February 2014.

Our school vision of strength in difference, together we are one, together we fly high; drawn from our biblical underpinning of 'for we are all one in Christ',  drives us in our quest to ensure all members of community flourish.  The birds on our window emblem are our vessel for supporting the understanding of the biblical underpinning.  Paul was writing to the Galatians asking them to recognise the strength in their differences and how when they unite, they can achieve more.  Different species of birds will flock together in times of challenge to work together for a common goal.  Please use these links to find out more information about flourishing at Dunbury and our vision and values.

I hope you enjoy our website; please do look at our class pages and especially our achievements page for a taste of what we are about. You are most welcome to come in and have a look around our school; please do not hesitate to contact us for more information or to arrange a visit.
