Hot School Meals

School Lunches

Here at Dunbury Academy we enjoy excellent Hot School Meals prepared and delivered by Local Food Links, a local company whose kitchen is based in Blandford. Local Food Links are proud to source high-quality, high-welfare ingredients from local farms and producers. The meals are better value and more filling than lunchboxes, and more convenient for busy parents too.   A healthy tasty lunch means better concentration in the afternoon... and best of all, children love them!  Even fussy eaters.

All parents are given a unique log in code to review the menu choices with their children and to order meals on line.  Meals cost £2.40 per day for Key Stage 2 children.

Every day there are three menu choices, regular, vegetarian or a jacket potato option.

All meals should be ordered one week in advance.

Do have a look on the local food links website for information and to look at this term's meal choices.

If your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2, they are entitled to a free meal every day, paid for by the government and older children may be able to get a free school meal too.  Have a look at the menu with your child and help them to choose a meal they will love each day.

Allergen Details - if you wish to find out about allergens in any of the meals prepared by Local Food Links, simply go onto their website and click on the Allergy Tab, then scroll halfway down to Allergen Details 2016.  If your child has allergies or special dietary requirements please contact barry.dovell@localfoodlinks.org.uk.

Packed Lunches

Alternatively, parents may provide their children with a packed lunch if they wish.  As part of our Healthy Schools intitiative we do request that this is a healthy lunch, with choices such as a savoury pasta or rice dish, salad or sandwich, plus some fruit, and perhaps a yoghurt.

Water

All children are encouraged to drink water throughout the day.  Water bottles are available from the school office at a cost £1.05 each.  Please ensure these are clearly named.
